Park Gyuri (born May 21, 1988 in Seoul) is a South Korean idol singer, actress and radio personality known for being the leader of girl group Kara, formed by DSP Media in 2007.
==Biography==
Prior to her singing career, she was a child actress. Her first appearance was on ''Today is a Nice Day'' in 1995 where she played the girlfriend of Kang Ho-dong's brother. She later appeared as the teenage version of Kim Jung-eun's character in ''Ladies of the Palace'' in 2001. She is the only daughter of popular voice dubber Park Sohyun. She's the one who came up with the name Kara which comes from the Greek word ''chara'' (, lit. "joy"), which was interpreted to mean "sweet melody".〔(''카라 박규리, 김정은 아역출신 “바르게 자랐습니다”'' ). ''Nate''.
